After nearly six years as a partner at Pentagram, Yuri Suzuki is leaving to concentrate on his art, music and installation-based practice.
An award-winning sound designer, Yuri worked on numerous sonic identities including MUBI, MIDI and the Mellon Foundation during his time at Pentagramās London office.
His art and installations have been exhibited all over the world, and he has created hugely popular interactive pieces for Turner Contemporary, Dallas Museum of Art, Berlinās Potsdamer Platz, and Brown Hart Gardens in Mayfair. His āDigital Electroniumā was revealed at the Barbican Gallery and his āSound of the Earth: Chapter 3ā installation was unveiled at the 23rd Triennale Milano International Exhibition.
His Ambient Sound Machine and his PO-80 Record Factory launched to great acclaim, and several of his pieces are now in the permanent collection of New Yorkās MoMA. Solo exhibitions āSound in Mindā and āFurniture Musicā were held at the Design Museum in London and The Lighthouse in Glasgow.
A true polymath, Yuri has also worked on high-profile interactive music projects for Roland and Moog, he has launched a new record label MSG, and is a regular DJ on Margate Radio. His installation piece āArborhythmā is currently on show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, as part of the āArt of Noiseā exhibition celebrating pioneering designs that shape our music experiences.
Pentagramās Angus Hyland adds: āYuriās unique talent has really helped to stretch the scope of Pentagramās capabilities over the last half-decade. He remains part of the broader Pentagram family and weāre looking forward to continuing our collaboration in the futureā.
