Dump Run

Music video celebrating the graphics of the mighty Yamaha keyboard. The video is for Jesse Hackett, a London-based artist and long-term collaborator of Damon Albarn.

All the visual elements in the video are taken from a PSR -110 Yamaha keyboard.
A photograph of the keyboard featuring its iconic symbols.
The 'Sound Effect' symbol put through a kaleidoscope.
As well as the symbols, the different musical styles printed on the keyboard were used.
The video combines graphics, with live action shots from the recycling centre where Hackett found the keyboard.
Live action shot of Jesse playing the keyboard.

The video intersperses a cacophony of keyboard-based motion graphics with live action footage of Hackett, who is drawn into the instrument’s visual world.

All elements of the keyboard were used in the graphics, including the Yamaha logo.
The video finishes with Hackett rendered as an icon in a Yamaha style.

Retrospective: London Design Festival

London Design Festival has been an annual celebration of the power of creativity for over 20 years. Since 2008, Pentagram partner Domenic Lippa has served as the LDF’s creative director, responsible every September for the design of a new visual identity. By inventively remixing a few key elements — typography, a signature red (“the colour of London”), and LDF's simple monogram — the program unifies hundreds of events while reaffirming London’s status as a global design capital.
